CNC Machining and Turning for Custom Parts

Sunbright manufactures custom machined components using 3-axis, 4-axis and 5-axis CNC milling, alongside CNC turning with live tooling. We work from customer drawings and agree the material, critical dimensions, inspection plan, quantity and delivery requirements before production.

CNC machining and turning capacity

EquipmentCurrent working capacityTypical use
5-axis CNC machining centresUp to 800 × 700 mm work envelopeComplex milled components and multi-face features
3-axis and 4-axis CNC millingUp to 1,200 × 600 mm work envelopePrismatic parts, plates, housings and brackets
CNC lathes with live toolingUp to 350 mm diameterTurned parts with secondary milled features

These are equipment limits, not a promise that every part within them is suitable. Send a drawing so we can confirm fixturing, material, tolerances and available capacity. See our equipment overview for other production processes.

Materials and part requirements

Materials listed in our current capabilities include aluminium and stainless steel alloys, ASTM Grade 5 titanium, Inconel, copper alloys and engineering plastics such as PEEK. Material grade, stock form, finish and documentation requirements are reviewed against the drawing before a quote.

Tolerance and inspection

Our machining capability includes linear tolerances down to ±0.005 mm for suitable features. Achievable tolerance depends on part geometry, material, process and measurement method, so we confirm it against each drawing. For applicable critical dimensions, our process capability target is Cpk 1.33. Tell us the inspection records or approvals your program requires; see our quality and inspection page.

Prototype and repeat production

We do not apply one fixed minimum order quantity to every project. We can assess prototype, validation and repeat-production runs, including design-for-manufacturing input where useful. Quote terms and lead time depend on the part and production schedule.
